In 1988, it was Marco's 12th birthday, his uncle gave him a vinyl produced by Tyree - Acid Over.
This music was completely new and rare at this time but marco's interest and passion
for electronic music was born. In 1990 the BFBS, a radio station for the British Rhine Army soldiers stationated in
germany, started producing a radio show called "The Steve Mason Experience".
Most productions were done by british artists - "Rave" or Breakbeat and Jungle were the main
themes of the earlier radio shows. After a few years Steve was also supporting artists from all
over the world and more styles of danceable electronic music. Steve also came to germany to spin
the decks and, for the first time in his life, Marco was raving to Steve's sets in 1993 in a
small club near Osnabrück. These events weren't regular at that time but another Radioshow
called "HR3 Clubnight" was on the radio every saturday night for three hours.
Marco decided to stay at home to record the show on many, many tapes. Three years later after
listening to electronic music all day long and regular club "experiences" he decided to produce
something on his own.
In 1996, after buying a Korg Poly-800, a Roland Tr-707 and a cheap Alesis EFX -
Marco made his first steps into programming and editing. The earlier tracks were simple
and really bad, but the interest to produce something different held on. The setup was growing
and changing regularly, every free minute was spent to dive into new soundscapes and rhythm
structures. Especially the Detroit styles of Omar S, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Moodyman ... was and
is Marco's main interest, also Dubtech, Deeptech and Ambient. All the productions have a
touch of the styles mentioned before and another important aspect is his "feeling" for
minimal sound structues with a flair of emotions that the listener can feel in every single track.
